The story of the project started when a young company SIA “eXpoint” offered a fuel station network “Gotika auto” to give a new breath to the company's fuel card system, based on the existing internal infrastructure of the customer’s company by using modern technologies.

The product that we proposed to improve was the “Gotika auto” loyalty card.

The loyalty card is designed for individuals and companies and offers an opportunity to receive discounts when paying for fuel in cash, by debit or credit card in the fuel station network.

Originally this was made possible with the use of a plastic card, which limited the customer with the need of always carrying a card to make purchases. Together with the client, we have agreed on the idea of ​​replacing a plastic card with a virtual one, as the result, the buyer would only need a mobile device with Internet access, which everybody always has in pocket anyway. This solution will also reduce the use of plastic and the costs associated with the production and issuance of the card.

The main challenges of this project were:

  • to find a technical solution and the most appropriate approach with each of the IT service providers,
  • to efficiently combine multiple solutions into a single system based on the customer's existing infrastructure without changing it,
  • to combine different types of IT services from the existing providers,
  • to create a modern and innovative system with the lowest possible costs.

With united efforts the complex project was successfully finished. The development consisted of the following stages:

  • we have created a new system on the base of the client's existing infrastructure,
  • in cooperation with representatives of the cashier system, we have developed a solution for data exchange between the cashier system and the new loyalty system,
  • we have organized data flows between all systems in the project,
  • implemented new IT solutions from other service providers, for example, the ability to make online purchases on the loyalty system portal using the payment services provided by a financial institution,
  • we’ve made sure that virtual cards are also accepted in our partners’ fuel station networks.

As the result, the "Mana Gotika" system was born. The online portal and the mobile app (available for Android devices) offer the following features to the customers:

  • ordering of a discount, debit or credit card from "Gotika auto" or registration of an existing plastic card with its subsequent use as a virtual card,
  • using a virtual card for receiving discounts and paying for purchases,
  • viewing purchase history,
  • indicating available discounts,
  • card management (setting a limit, changing the PIN code or blocking the card),
  • purchasing of a gift card for the customer’s close ones or his own use,
  • indicating the lowest fuel prices in the fuel station network "Gotika auto".

The experience we’ve gained during the development of the virtual loyalty card influenced the ways of thinking for each of us, opening up new opportunities for both end users, the customer’s company, partners and for ourselves. It has sparked the improvement of our existing solutions and the creation of the entirely new services for customers and companies thanks to the new ready-to-use technical solutions.
