Thinnest heated floor - Uponor Siccus Mini

Uponor Siccus Mini is an underfloor heating system that offers advantages for installers, building contractors, and end users. Quick and easy to install, delivering top energy performance.

Whenever one considers setting up underfloor heating in a new construction or renovation project, such a plan often has to be abandoned because of the height or weight of the structure. Uponor Siccus Mini, being the thinnest underfloor heating system out there, makes this idea 100% possible. It is also the lightest dry-installation underfloor heating system that uses water as a medium.

The height of system’s structure is only 15 millimetres. It is installed onto the existing floor, which means less dust, dirt, and a lot less time installing. The installation can be done by one person.

The Siccus Mini system has very low inertia, and it heats up very quickly. Within 50 minutes, it reaches 90% of its maximum power.

Renovating buildings

The Siccus Mini underfloor heating system offers a few advantages, especially for renovation projects. Once the system is installed, there is no need to wait for the screed to dry, and you can lay the new flooring immediately. Another benefit of dry-installation systems is that they have a lower weight compared to the so-called wet systems that involve pouring concrete, and this can be a critical factor for certain projects. The low structural height of the Siccus Mini is a major advantage in modernisation projects. After all, changing the height of the floor structure also means changing the height of the windows, door frames, door handles, light switches, sockets, and any other device in the room. The small changes created by an ultra-thin underfloor heating system can be handled without any effort, while a significant height modification might require additional adaptations or even not be possible. Uponor Siccus Mini suits all floor coverings. Laminate and parquet are the best choice, and easiest to work with, but the system works with all known types of flooring, be it natural stone or tiles, vinyl or carpet.

Get warm faster

One of the advantages of Siccus Mini, which undoubtedly makes the trouble and discomfort of installation pay off, is the system’s low response time. In other words, it quickly achieves the desired comfort temperature in the room. The system gets to 90% of its heating capacity in 50 minutes. Conventional dry systems take more than two hours, while wet systems need more than three hours to heat up.

Saving energy, with less emissions

Solutions like Siccus Mini help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit climate change. The EU has set the goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2050 and achieving a 55% reduction in emissions relative to 1990 levels by 2030. This also affects the construction sector, which accounts for around 36% of emissions in the EU.[1]One possible strategy for achieving this is to use underfloor heating systems, which consume less energy thanks to lower feed temperatures and principles of radiant heating. Equipping buildings with such low-temperature underfloor heating systems and individual room control systems, can result in an emissions reduction as high as 39%.[2]Heat pumps are recommended as a sustainable source of energy. Uponor Siccus Mini offers an excellent combination with heat pumps due to its low-temperature operation.
